Why Ducati
A hundred years of Italian engineering, much of it developed on the racetrack first.
01
Ducati Corse shares the Borgo Panigale site. Desmosedici engines, wings and electronics move from MotoGP and WorldSBK into the road bikes.
02
Every Ducati is built in Bologna, Italy, where the company was founded in 1926.
03
6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction, wheelie and slide control, developed with factory riders.
04
The valves are closed mechanically, not by springs, so they don't float at high rpm.
05
Desmo Owners Clubs, the Ducati Riding Experience and World Ducati Week bring riders together.
06
Authorised service, genuine parts, accessories and apparel, and the Ducati Link app for your rides.
Heritage
From radio components in 1926 to five MotoGP riders’ world titles.
Antonio Cavalieri Ducati and his sons Adriano, Bruno and Marcello found Società Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati to make radio components.
After the war Ducati builds the Cucciolo, a tiny clip-on engine for bicycles. It puts Italy back on the move and Ducati into motorcycles.
Engineer Fabio Taglioni's 125 Desmo racer closes its valves mechanically. Desmodromic timing becomes the Ducati signature.
Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari finish first and second at the Imola 200 on 750 cc L-twins, the start of Ducati's superbike racing story.
Miguel Galluzzi's M900 Monster strips a sportbike to its essentials and creates the modern naked motorcycle.
Massimo Tamburini's 916, with its single-sided swingarm and under-seat exhausts, becomes one of the most beautiful and successful superbikes ever.
Casey Stoner wins the MotoGP riders' title on the Desmosedici GP7, Ducati's first premier-class crown.
The Desmosedici Stradale V4, derived from the MotoGP engine, arrives in a road bike for the first time.
After Bagnaia's 2022 and 2023 titles and Martín's in 2024, Marc Márquez wins the 2025 MotoGP crown with the Ducati Lenovo Team.
Ducati celebrates its centenary, still building every motorcycle in Borgo Panigale, Bologna.

Rider stories
Illustrative rider stories, not verified customer reviews.
“The Panigale V4 S made me feel slow, not the other way round. The electronics are invisible until you need them.”
“Did Leh on the Multistrada. Radar cruise on the highway, Enduro mode on the passes. I arrived grinning, not aching.”
“The Diavel V4 stops people at every fuel pump. And it pulls like nothing I have ridden before.”
“My first big bike. The Monster is light, forgiving and genuinely fun. The service experience has been spotless.”
“Track day at Kari with the Streetfighter. Quick shifter, wings, Brembo Hypure. It made me a better rider in one session.”
“The Scrambler is the happiest motorcycle I have owned. Low seat, light clutch and it looks great in '62 Yellow.”
“60,000 km valve checks on the Multistrada V4 changed how I think about big touring bikes.”
“Weekday commute, weekend twisties. The Monster does both, and that L-twin sound never gets old.”
